About Mrs. Fisher
I have lived in Georgia since I was 4 years old and grew up in Cobb County (Marietta, Ga) before moving to Coweta County in 1996.
I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelors in Middle Grades Mathematics and Science (4-8 grade).
During my time at Kennesaw, I took marching band and concert band classes at Georgia Tech. I am a BIG GEORGIA TECH fan !
After graduating, I taught for several years in the Coweta County School system before staying home to raise both of my sons.
I have been a mathematics tutor for over 15 years in addition to teaching Middle School Students in public schools during part of that time.
I LOVE Middle School students and Middle School Math ! I want students to know that Math can be a likable thing and try to make it FUN !
I have been married to my husband since I moved here in 1996 and have two sons. My oldest is a student at Kennesaw State University- Marietta campus and played trumpet in concert band and mellophone in the marching band at Northgate H.S. My youngest is a student at Northgate High School and plays trombone in concert band and baritone in marching band. My husband and I met in the Georgia Tech marching band, and we try to return to homecoming to play and march with the band when we can. Music is an important part of my life, and I am thrilled that my sons are 4th generation players as my siblings, both parents, and grandmother also played instruments in band.
I am a charter member of the Cobb Wind Symphony and play clarinet for fun. We have concerts throughout the year and I invite you to attend at anytime.
They are free ! http://www.cobbwindsymphony.org
I also belong to NCTM (National Council for Teachers of Mathematics), PDK (Phi Delta Kappa)- Professional Teacher's Organization, and have been active with my sons' Northgate Band Booster Organization from 2013-2021 as well as Boy Scout of America, Flint River Council, volunteering as staff for Wood Badge Courses in 2013, 2016, and 2019.
